How Miru Works

Miru is a publishing platform, built on a set of tightly integrated technologies;

A fully databased content management system
Every page, image, and file is databased for quick, efficient lookup and retrieval.
A browser-based Wiki-style content editing interface
Which allows you to edit, create, delete, move, and manage all of the pages and files on your website using nothing but your web browser.
A customized, high-performance webserver
Miru's webserver is customized to give Miru full control over the URL paths, so that you get pretty, human-readable URL's like this;
http://mysite.com/about/contact/

Instead of difficult ones like this;

http://mysite.com/engine.php?docid=3450&output=html&lang=en
Search-engine optimization components
Google's sitemap.xml standard is fully implemented to ensure that your website is indexed as frequently and as quickly as possible after you update it. Miru also provides full control over all SEO meta-tags like keywords, description, and page titles, and the configuration of the robots.txt file.
A user-based security system
All of the functions in Miru, such as adding pages, editing pages, changing site settings, and so on are configurable by user. Moreover, you can define what capabilities are given to the "public", meaning non-logged-in users. This lets you choose from a wide set of configurations for your site;
  1. Public site with private editing by a hand-picked team
  2. Public site with public editing (like Wikipedia)
  3. Private site with private editing (such as a secure project site, intranet, or extranet)
    1. Here everyone must log in, but you can assign some users editing rights, and other users viewing rights only
