1. Choose the Miru Service Package you want

Miru offers a full spectrum of services, for the smallest site with only a couple of pages, to extremely large websites with pages numbering in the thousands.

See our plans & pricing, and contact us if you have any questions about which one is best for you.

2. Choosing a Domain Name

To access your website, you will need a domain name. This is the name that people enter into their web browser to access your website, in the same way that people type www.google.com to get to Google's website.

Generally the name you choose should reflect the name of your business or organization, or the type of business, for example, bestcafe.co.nz.

You can;

  • Purchase and use your own personalized domain name
    • e.g. www.mybiz.co.nz
    • This costs you approximately $30/yr, depending on the registrar you use
  • Use a subdomain on one of our premium domain names
    • e.g. mybiz.mteden.co.nz
  • Use one of our FREE domain names
    • e.g. mybiz.wiki.sygnal.com

Tips on Choosing a Domain Name
Your Domain Name is your identity, and it directly affects who will find your site, how frequently people will access it, even how search engines rank it.
Choosing a Domain Name Registrar
You must purchase your domain name through a Registrar, however all registrars are not created equal.

3. Register and configure your domain name

Once your domain name has been chosen and purchased, you need to configure your Registrar's DNS to point your domain name at the Miru server.

4. Creating your website

Your website is created automatically by Miru when you access it.

Once your domain name has been configured, and your DNS is updated, you can simply;

  1. Access your domain name, e.g. http://www.mysite.com
    1. Miru will tell you that the site does not exist, and present a login screen
  2. Login to the Miru server
  3. Follow the create new website screens

Miru allows you to choose a template when you create your website. This automatically duplicates the template site, and allows you to edit it from there.

5. Promoting your website

If you are building a public website, you can take full advantage of Miru's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) capabilities.
